What are the causes of nighttime urination?

I get up to go 3 or 4 times a night.

The first thing you should do is have a blood test to dertermine that you do not have diabetes. If the blood test shows you are not a diabetic, then you should look at things like diet and exercise. A lack of magnesium prevents the bladder from expanding to hold enough urine. Also, drink lemon juice to clean the kidneys.

You don't say if you're a man or woman. A man could have an enlarged prostate. Men and women both could be drinking too much fluid too close to bedtime.

I believe that most nighttime urination is caused by a person drinking liquid after 8:00 at night. But medication can also cause this problem and so can problems with the bladder in men and women or the prostate in men.

the causes of frequent urination at night include high blood sugar or diabetes mellitis,prostatism in men which causes narrowing of urinary outflow and incomplete bladder emptying,leading to frequent visits to toilet to urinate at night.excessive beverage intake containing cafine or alcohol is also a cause.sleep apnea causes nocturia.pregnancy can lead to frequent urination.urinarary tract infection,STDs,anxiety,tension,stress are some other causes.
