What are the differences between Catholic schools and public schools?

Catholic schools tend to have a smaller amount of students in the school, and slightly smaller classes. Catholic schools also require students to take a few religion courses and may have assemblies for mass. The education and academic advising also tends to be better at Catholic schools.

Catholic schools are generally run by a parish, the local archdiocese or a Catholic order of nuns or priests. Students receive instruction in the Catholic faith as well as in general academic subjects. Catholic schools are generally tuition funded. Many special education services available through public schools are not available through Catholic schools due to cost.

The most obvious difference is that while public schools make every effort to maintain an unbiased education that doesn't promote any one religion or lifestyle, rather a general knowledge of lots of belief systems, a catholic school would do the opposite. Additionally, a private school would typically have a tuition, as they would not be government-funded.

Catholic school are known to be more strict than public schools. The students must also wear a uniform. Catholic schools also include a religion class, where public schools do not.
