There are actually 6 kinds of molly. These are the black molly, silver molly, albino molly, golden molly, dust molly, and marble molly. Black molly is the most aggressive of molly while the albino is the most sensitive. You'll find it interesting in molly breeding especially when you start now!

Although Black Mollies are probably the most popular, there are Silver Mollies, Lyretail Mollies, Sailfin Mollies and a variety of other variations both in color and in body type. Mollies are easy to care for, are peaceful community tank choices, and are good breeding fish.

There are yucatan mollies, sail fin mollies, black mollies, silver mollies, gold nugget mollies, dalmation mollies, balloon body mollies, lyre tail mollies, short finned mollies, midnight molly, mexican sail fin molly, red molly, gold dust molly, sunburst molly, amazon molly, and tattooed mollies. I don't support the buying of tattooed mollies because it is cruel and the fish don't survive.

Molly fish come in an endless supply of different types. Essentially they are all the same just different colors (think about people who breed different colors of dogs). Popular ones include black, dalmatian, white, spotted, sail-fin. Many many more exist though. Molly are brackish which means they like a bit of salt(not table! ) in the water.

There are silver fin mollies,balloon mollies,short finned mollies,black mollies,and gold-dust mollies. However,my favorite is the sailfin mollie because its fin resembles a mohawk.
