Witch hazel is basically a naturally antibiotic. It works the same as toner. Sometimes people are allergic to it so it's best to test it on a little skin.

Witch hazel can be used as an astringent for oily skin. It can also be used to disinfect small and non-serious wounds. It can be mixed with water and a few drops of mint essential oil to make a natural and refreshing mouth wash. It should not be swallowed.
