What are the legal considerations for a United States citizen who is getting married to an illegal immigrant in Mexico?

My fiance is here from Mexico illegally, we will be getting married soon and I would like to know the implications it will have on me.

You should be ok if the wedding will take place in Mexico. Just make sure he/she applies for citizenship appropriately.

You need to consult an immigration lawyer as soon as possible because your fiance could still be deported regardless of your marital status. Being married to a citizen does not guarantee her citizenship. Additionally, you could also be charged with a federal crime for harboring a known illegal immigrant if you do not pursue the proper documentation for your fiance.

It could have a serious impact on your life since you could be prosecuted; also your new husband may be sent to his native country without further a do.
