Some obligatory spots definitely have to be the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, the Louvre and Notre Dame. The Eiffel Tower I would highly recommend going at night - Paris is the city of lights after all. Sacre Coeur is a nice view of the city. The Louvre is worth it for the Mona Lisa, and Notre Dame is beautiful.

I can list you the most visited places: Paris and the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile, the isle of Mont Saint Michel, Chambord castle, Versailles, Saint Chapelle, Castle of Haut-Kœnigsbourg, Puy de Dôme, Musée Picasso, the Carcassonne. Other beautiful cities are Strasboug and Colmar: keep in mind that France has a really high number of UNESCO sites you can't miss.

There is a lot out there but the best places to go is in paris and around it. If you would like to see true french hospitality I would suggest you go to little villages like Limousin.

A number of tourist sites line the streets of Paris: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay, the Arc de Triomphe and the Catacombs are a start. The Normandy beaches of WWII lie to the north, providing a historical tourist site. Cannes, to the south, is filled with beaches and is home to the annual Cannes Film Festival.
