The website for Parents of Children Living with Autism has some excellent information and help for you. Please seek out parents groups and benefit from their help and support.

A parent with a child affected by PDD more likely should have high tolerance as the child's indifferent behaviour may cause a lot of problems in the family and may affect your work & most day-to-day activities. Whatever the child does the parent should see themselves in their child's position. Parent should be supportive & educate about puberty to their child.

I work with children who have disabilities and disorders. The best advice I can give you is to talk to other parents, use your support groups, make an appointment with his doctor and discuss your concerns. This is a delicate situation and should be handled with people who have gone through this and a professional.

Many parents are concerned about whether or not medications will stunt their child's growth and negatively affect their ability to reproduce. Parents are concerned about the social implications of puberty hitting at this time in their child's life.
