One advantage of legalizing cocaine would be that it would be taxed and bring in additional revenue to the government. It would also greatly decrease the illegal drug trade with all the violence associated with it. The main disadvantage would be the increase in the number of people that would be using cocaine and become addicted to it.

On the pro side, the government will be able to redirect funds now spent on enforcement and interdiction on other needs. Further, the government will be able to regulate and tax cocaine, providing a new revenue stream. On the con side, legal cocaine will let more people try it and become addicted, and perhaps die of overdose.

The only pro would be the potential tax revenue from the sale; however, since most of the drug is already illegal, it will likely remain underground and thus untaxed. The cons would include increased use of a highly addictive substance which would result in more addicts unable to take care of themselves.

The basic pros could be that the price of cocaine would be controlled, and therefore the market would either be reduced or expanded. Though, if cocaine was legalized, then you would have more people getting access to cocaine and it's deadly consequences if not used properly. As well as people creating cheaper versions of the drug which could cause overdosing.

Cocaine is a very strong drug and it is easy to get dependant on it. There is a lot of crime surrounding the use of this drug. The only pro I can see is that it could be taxed and regulated

The number one con for users or pro for most people for legalizing cocaine is that the number of people who used it would go down. It would be easier to get and dealers would start mixing it with things and deteriorating the quality. The number one pro for users would be that it is easy to obtain.
