Pets can be brought into the country; they may not to be sold or traded. There are very specific requirements for vaccinations, including rabies. Dogs/cats are subject to different rules than other pets. Pets need a passport. Ask your veterinarian. Refer to the Netherlands Embassy site for details.

You will find information online about taking pets to The Netherlands. Details of transportation would be predicated by the rules and regulations of the airlines you choose. Visit the Netherlands Embassy site for more details.

You need a pet passport, and you can't bring a pet for purpose or trading or selling it. There are requirements for shots, etc, you will need a statement from your vet as to shots, health and clearly identifying your pet as to color, markings, ownership etc. There are time qualifications on shots, etc that you need to know.

You would need to check with a lawyer to see what they are. You need to know all the information you can on the subject so I would consult a lawyer who knows about those rules. But make sure you know everything before you send an animal half way around the world.
