Most carry similar risks of blood clots and strokes. You should not smoke if you are on any birth control pill.

There is not one safest birth control pill brand. It really depends on the dosage you will be taking and your own medical history. Certain medical problems can affect the type of birth control you use. I recommend talking to your doctor, and getting information about any potential medication.

I've been on three different brands before I became satisfied with Sprintek. One made me severely depressed. Another made me bloat up really bad. Just be aware.

All oral-contraceptives are reasonably safe, It's about finding what works best with your body, and may take a couple trials before you find the one for you. Stick with name brands, like Ortho-Tri-Cyclen or Seasonique, and look for something with a very LOW level of hormones, to help eliminate side-affects, like breast tenderness and weight gain.

When choosing a birth control you want to find one with a low estrogen levels to decrease your chances of getting blood clots.

Truthfully there is really no safe birth control pill to take they all have risks involved if you take them and they sometimes they do not all ways work to stop you from getting pregnant. I would suggest not taking them at all and look some where else for protection.

There isn't a certain pill that is "safer" then others. Every person is different. I would recommend staying away from Yaz, though. From what I see on T.V. a lot of girls are getting really sick from it. So, I'd go to your doctor and ask them what is best for you!
