Dogs can develop skin rashes due to allergies and/or contact dermatitis. Rashes may be caused by food allergies, irritants in grooming products, or environmental allergies such as a reaction to chemical house cleaning products. Dogs may also develop rashes from staph infections on the skin. Staph infections typically occur in moist areas such as skin folds or groin.

There are many I am sure but a few come to mind. The first is one from allergies,it looks similar to prickly heat rash, red and bumpy. Mange also can cause what looks like rashes, which are actually from microscopic mites that cause this appearance on the skin.

Most dog skin disorders are immune system related. Some of these disorders include demodectic mange, eczema, scalp psoriasis, ringworm, seborrheic dermatitis and yeast infection. Another form of rash is dog scabies. This is not immune system related. Dog skin disorders are indicated by itchy scalp, skin rashes, hair loss, scabs or very dry skin.
