I'm no expert but it could be a kind of dermatitis. I would try taking Benadryl orally and use Benadryl cream for a few days.

It could be that you are allergic to something. Try changing your pillow case more often if you notice that the rash is on one side particularly. Also, it could be due to dehydration. Try drinking your daily requirements of water.
