There really isn't a lot you can do for that other than try to understand when he has an accident because I am sure he feels as bad about it as you do.

Unfortuntaly there is not much that can be done. One great option that I have found to be helpful is a doggy diaper. Some animal stores actually carry them, but you can make your own out of the standard adult diapers by fitting it around the dog and cutting a hole for the tail. Change it often!

For An Old Dog: This May be a sign of some serious bladder problems and it may be time to see the vet about something. For A Young Dog: More training for you Dog, sometimes even simply making sure your Dog stays out much longer can even solve the problem, or making sure you keep a routine when going outside.

I have seen little doggie diapers for sale. They are like cloth diapers for dogs. They fasten with velcro and when they are dirty you can wash and reuse them. You could try searching the web and I am sure you would find something of this nature.

There is a prescription supplement your veterinarian can give called Proin. It can help with this problem. It contains the active ingredient phenylpropanolamine, which helps to strenghten the bladders sphincter muscle, which helps with leakage. However, if the dog has lost complete control of the bladder, you need to consider the dogs quality of life.
