If you have a yellow light, that is not a good sign. That means either your system has overheated, or you have HDD failure in your system. Or you can hold your power button till you hear beeps, which will set it back to factory settings and might fix it.

If you're not attached to your hard-drive data, you can reset the system to default. Hold down the power button for about 12 seconds, turn back on, re-setup your PS3.

The first thing to do is make sure your ps3 is plugged in properly to the power outlet and to the tv. If you power on the system and all you get is a red light where the green light is you may have a serious problem.

try to change some cable. If your ps3 do not start and there is a yellow led (instead of green and blue) you have to call a Sony Center.

Try pulling the electronic plug out of the wall first, otherwise try calling Sony's technology support's 1-800 number, they are very helpful.

The first thing you should do is consult your buyers manual, next you should check to make sure the system is plugged in.
