You should see a gastroenterologist if this is the problem. It could be many things. Irritable bowel syndrome, Chron's disease or various infections (such as colistrium difficle or e. coli). Also possible causes are fistulas or cancer. More information is needed before you can address the problem. See a doctor.

The important thing is to find the cause. If it's constipation, this must be addressed and prevented in the future. If diarrhea is the cause, there are medications that can help. There could be certain things in the diet that make matters worse. There are also exercises and bowel retraining.

One of the best ways is to use chia seeds. Regular use regulates the water content in the bowel. For immediate relief use fennel seed tea to stop the diarrhea.

It depends largely on the cause of the condition. Some people with irritable bowel syndrome suffer from this; it can be managed with proper treatment. However, there are more serious conditions which can also cause this symptom.
