Manic depression is a disorder that has many other disorders that come with it. Manic episodes and rapid cycling are two features of manic depression. Ultradian cycling is changing moods as rapidly as every 24 hours. People with symptoms of this disorder should see a therapist. Isolation makes this condition even worse.

In manic depression a person has both manic and depressed mood episodes. Usually people with manic depression will go through these episodes about 4 times a year. However, some people cycle much, much faster. In ultradian cycling people go through both of these mood cycles quickly, both within 24 hours.

Ultradian states in bipolar disorder a.k.a. manic depression, cycle much faster than rapid cycling, which could be as many as four or more mood episodes in one year, or it may occur during the course of a day too.

Manic Depression, also known as Bipolar Disorder, is characterized by intense mood swings between depression and mania. The ultradian cycle can be affected by the typical mood swings associated with Bipolar Disorder, causing a change in sleeping and eating habits.
