Ephedrine is an alkaloid that acts as a stimulant and appetite suppressant. It does this by directly activating your sympathetic nervous system. The legal battle and history of side effects for this supplement are murky at best as it can potentially do permanent damage to your internal organs.

Pure ephedrine was historically used for weight loss and still is today. There are many risks with taking ephedrine including high blood pressure, agitation, heart arrhythmias, and heart attacks among other health issues that have resulted in a significant number of deaths. Due to this ephedrine is illegal to purchase in the US.

It's a stimulant, just like caffenie. It will supress your appetite, keep you awake and alert, decongest your sinuses, and help your concentration on tasks. It's also molecularly similar in structure to amphetamines and methamphetamines (other stimulants). It gained popularity orginainally in China to treat bronchitis and ashthma. There's nothing too special about it to be honest.
