What colors should I consider when painting walls by a red tile floor?

You will be fine if you select a neutral color or a color that has the same warmth level as the red tile. A bright red requires a warm color whereas a deeper red that is more muted would go better with a cooler shade. I would recommend staying away from the green Christmas look.

You should either choose colors that are next to red on the color wheel, or use colors that are opposite on the color wheel. For example, orange is next to red, and green is across from red. Otherwise, neutrals in a beige or brown might work, but you really need to test samples first. There are many shades of red.

It all depends that kind of outcome you want. Some people would paint the walls white for a dramatic look. Some would paint the walls black. I would paint the walls a medium gray. You will need to look at the red paint, does it have an orange warm cast or a cool cast.

Pick a color that is either neutral, or in the red family. If the red tiles on the floor are a vibrant color, like a blood red, consider a nice white, or cream. If the tiles are a darker, maroon red, then you could paint the walls a rose color (which is in red family).

Contrast is better. I would go much lighter like whites and creams. Then you could decorate with a bold darker color like black trim and decor. If your ultra bold then go with darker walls such as black but it depends on what room and is harder to paint over.

A dark red would be an interesting color to consider if the tiles are brighter red, but if the tiles are a lighter red, I would suggest an off-white egg-shell color or a darker blue or tan.

Should use yellow color paint or green but light colors of green. Oil based will be fine I think. Important how the tile looks.

Any neutral will work and they blend with white. Neutrals in the beige, tan, sand or taupe family will blend with your white tile.

Something with a complementary hue, like peach or pink, would offset the floor nicely. You could also use a cream-colored neutral shade, but avoid plain white.
