Mineral deposits and dirt can cause murky pool water. Doing some pH, calcium, lime and other pool tests will help you determine what is causing your murky water. Or even just a consistent cleaning!

First thing is check to make sure the pool is properly sanitized. Use your test kit and see if your bromine or chlorine is up to proper levels. Nine times out of ten thats the culpret. A properly sanitized pool is generally clear. Add algecide if necessary.

The problem is that the PH balance of the pool is off. This could cause black and brown algae. Testing the water and adjusting the chemical balance will fix it.

Cloudy pool water can have many different causes, such as water balance, pH, improper care methods, a bad pool filter system, water source, or excessive rain.

There is no single cause for cloudy or mucky type water in your pool. For the murky type color it could be due to algae or mineral problems. Pool water can also be contaminated due to bodily oils and cosmetic residues. Though this problems are simple to fix, keeping high maintenance on your pool can help prevent these from reoccurring.

Cloudy pool water can be caused by a multitude of reasons including algae growth, inadequate filtration, poor circulation, heater use, insufficient sunlight, high PH, a heavy volume of swimmers without adequate sanitizer application. It is always easier to prevent cloudy pool water vs. treating by cleaning your pool weekly.

Try adding an algecide. Also rarely green can come from copper pipes.  add a comment
