You have a great chance of actually being pregnant. Many at home pregnancy tests end up failing based on different medications that people are taking. You should go see a doctor and make sure that you are not pregnant otherwise maybe you are having some low or high estrogen problems.

Most women can worry so much about being pregnant that it can delay their period. The fact that your breast are sore, is probably a sign that your period is right around the corner.

Sore breasts and a late period could be from changes in your hormone levels. If the first pregnancy test was negative you would be wise to retest after a week if there has been no change. Sometime the level needed for a positive result is too low to measure. You may want to consult your doctor also.

Pregnancy tests based on pregnancy hormones in the urine can read negative because the hormone levels are not yet high enough to show in the urine or that you had diluted urine. If you think you are pregnant, a doctor can do a more accurate blood test to be sure.

Many things; however, it would be best to get evaluated by a doctor as home pregnancy tests can often be wrong or misread.

Sometimes its just the tissue makeup of your breasts that can cause them to be more likely to get sore. When you do your monthly checkup for lumps, try to feel if it has a grainy feeling to it. That will cause tenderness especially around that time of the month.

You are having the symptoms of your period but most likely are stressing out about being pregnant so much that it is messing up your period schedule.
