The cause of your plasma TV going black may be related to the calibration of the set itself. Calibration must be done regularly to ensure the longevity of your tv set. Call BestBuy or someone and see if they can come out and calibrate it for you.

It could be that there is a lose wire some where in the tv. To be sure you should probably call the company that you bought the tv from.

Well, it could be that your wire is not in place properly. Adjust your wire and make sure it is well adjusted.

Lets start with the obvious, make sure its ok. otherwise was there any damage inflicted upon the tv itself? maybe u need to call the company and ask if ur warranty will be voided if u open the TV up and check the fuses inside. These are all things i would do before buyinga new one

First check that all connections are in tight, then confirm you are in the correct input for your signal. Call you provider to check for outages in your area.

From experience I had a TV where my colors started looking off but then would go back to normal after a restart but ended up being my HDMI input.

Well usually when your t.v. is going black, the wires are not connected properly. I am guessing your t.v. is turning on and then turning black rapidly. It could be a faulty wire. Check your wires to see if this is the case. If it is not, then the color connector must be burned out. It needs to be replaced.

Though most plamas have feuature to prevent it, the problem could be caused by burn-in. A bad backlight could also be a candidate.
