This can be an impacted tooth. It may not hurt now but could if it gets infected. You also could have an ingrown hair follicle. Either way you should see a doctor.

It sounds like you are having an allergic reation to the environment. Your ear canals are connected to your throat by a passage way that runs along this area. If you experiencing a sore throat or stuffy nose, contact your doctor for options of antihistimines.

It could be a clogged salivary gland and sooner or later it will pop back open and drain and usually after that happens you won't have any more trouble.

If you have not yet had your wisdom teeth out then this could be the start of a impacted tooth erupting through your gums. The swelling will lead to pain if this is the case. Seek the advice of a dentist or doctor, whomever you can see first.

If both your ear and your jaw are on the condition of swelling, then it might be a case of an internal swelling of the submandibular lymph nodes which are situated between the ear and the jaw area. It may be caused by infections of the ear, neck or pharynx.

It could be caused by an infected tooth. An ear infection could also cause this. It is best to seek medical advice to rule out other causes.

I was thinking TMJ or a back tooth problem but you have no pain. Did you perhaps get bit by a spider in that area? If it gets more swollen or if pain starts definitely see a doctor. You could try a cold pack and an anti-inflammatory to see if it helps.

Swelling between the ear and jaw can be the result of an infection that is associated with your teeth and or ear or sinus's. If the swelling does not go down within a day or two at most I would consult with a doctor to make certain that nothing is wrong.
