What could cause a problem with my Ibook causing it not to boot?

I have unplugged my computer, I have also charged the battery in order to get it to turn on, but nothing works.

The power management unit could be causing the iBook not to boot. You can reset the PMU it by holding Shift-Control-Option-Power. Wait five seconds and then press the power button. The computer should then start up. If not, you may have a larger issue such as a bad motherboard or CPU.

Your computer's hard drive might just be the answer, you might want to reinstall the operating system with the system recovery disk. It could also be cause by a bad-shutdown.

Well if you have a fully charged new battery and your computer still won't turn on you may have a serious problem internally.

Have you tried just using the plug to turn it on? If nothing works it may be your Power Supply (or a fried mother board) I would seriously suggest you contact Apple for more support regarding this issue, they can tend to be quite helpful. However, it sounds like to me you have a power supply issue.

you might have some software issues, like something the apple people might have forgotten to installed (if this is a new laptop) or else you got a hardware issues somethingBroke

If your I Book does not seem to want to boot I would check a battery problem. Your battery may have gone out and you may need to purchase a new one.
