The pressure from a ruptured disk could be pressing on the spinal cord. The vet will try conservative treatment first. Surgery is the last resort.

This is just like the human body structure. With canines, one of the cause is because of the immune system which attacks degenerative myelopathy, which leads to communication and coordination between nerves of the canine and the brain.

Hip dysplasia is common among many large breeds of dogs and especially pure breeds. It is a malformation of the socket that causes arthritis and loosening of the ligaments.

This could be a variety of ailments. In an older dog the most likely thing is bad hips. As the joints deteriorate the dog will experience weakness just from pain. Other than that it could be a stroke or a severe urinary tract infection or kidney problems. Bad hips is the mostly likely thing.
