If this has happened suddenly, get your dog to a vet immediately. Look up a 24-hour emergency vet if it is nighttime or a weekend. If this is a chronic situation, already being treated, look into physical therapy you can perform yourself, and carts and other items for disabled dogs.

When a dog goes down in the hindquarters, his vertebrae are fused to his spine. This sometimes happens, generally with larger dogs. It may need surgery, depending on how old the dog is. If you want to help your dog, take him to your veterinarian.

If your dog is unable to walk, it is best to get him/her to the veternarian as soon as possible. This is not a common issue in dogs.

If he's older he might have arthritus like people do. I know that glucosamine help people, and might dogs too. Try PET co or Pet smart and see if they have healtlhy natural alternatives. Otherwise take him to a vet. I don't know if he broke a bone or something.
