If you really love her, you have to show that you really love her daughter. You have to make her feel that no matter what you still love her. At any rate, you will lose nothing. You abide all what the rulings are of your girlfriend's mother.

Just be as polite and patient with the girlfriend's mother as you can. Show her what a great, loving dependable guy you are, and she will eventually come around.
