What do you know about Pekingese dogs and allergies?

I heard they have allergic tendencies.

Depends on the dog itself really. but yes most dogs with short noses like a pekingese will have more allergic tendencies then say, a german shepherd. I believe you can have your dog tested for allergies at the vets office.

I have had two Pekingese they have terrible allergies both of mine were allergic to fleas as well as environmental allergies.

Smaller dogs get allergies more frequently due to their size. If your dog gets them really bad you can call your vet and set up an appointment. Your vet can prescribe medication in order to ease some of the allergy symptoms in your dog like drippy, watery eyes and sneezing.

I know that because of their skin they're tend to get them easily. It's best to talk to your vet & see if they could suggest certain shampoos, lotions even a special diet to help. I know because of the way their skin falls or lays it tends to trap dirt & bacteria. Talk to your vet.
