What do you use to mark on clothing and other fabrics?

We are going to decorate t-shirts at a birthday party.

You can use permanent fabric markers or fabric paint (neither will come off in the wash). You should be able to find either of these at your local craft supply store.

There are fabric marking pens readily available in craft shops. You can select slick finishes, puff paints and even glitter paints. Wash and dry the shirts before applying the paint.

The secret to drawing on t-shirts is to stretch the fabric so whatever you're using doesn't snag. A piece of card board big enough to hold the shirt in place with the help of clothes pins is all you need. Then sharpie pens, paint pens, fabric paints, whatever you like.

If you're just going to draw a temporary pattern there's a special white pencil...I forget exactly what the technical term is, but it's used to mark patterns in clothes. If you're going for permanent then I would suggest fabric paint.
