What does it mean if my left side itches and swells?

I have no idea. How much swelling is happening? My best guess is that you have a hernia (isn't that where you get some side pooching out)? I don't know why that would itch. Also, maybe you were shirtless and brushed up against some poison oak or sumac with your left side.

It could just be a reaction to something usually if you itch something your skin turn red and gets inflamed due to the stress the itching puts on the skin. As far as the itching you may need to watch what you are putting on your skin or in your laundry.
