At nine weeks a fetus while still very very small now has hair follicles, is growing genitalia, and of course the biggest development is having a heartbeat.

The baby's arms grow, develop bones and bend at the elbows. Toes begin to form, and your baby's eyelids and ears continue developing. By the end of this week, your baby may be close to 3/4 inch

At nine weeks pregnant your baby is still very small, however it has a heartbeat that you can hear with a stethscope and see on an ultrasound. The baby is going to resemble a pea pod with extensions for arms and legs. As your baby developes and grows, so will you.

At nine weeks pregnant your baby is about the size of an inch and a fraction of an ounce. She has all of her essential organs at this point. At this point sexual organs are forming, but the sex is still indeterminable. At this point she's ready to start her amazing growth spurt.

It measures 20-30mm which is about the size of a grape and already resembles a human with arms, legs and a head.

When I first found out I was pregnant, this was my first question. I looked in "What to Expect When Your Expecting" and the best way I can describe it is alien-like. Tiny, translucent, with a head that looks too big for its body.
