"Thoracic" refers to the area of the body that is supported by the thoracic spine, which is 12 vertebrae between the cervical and lumbar spine. The thoracic cavity is formed by the ribs and contains the heart and lungs. An "thoracic MRI" (magnetic resonance imaging) of that area would render images or "results" -- pictures -- of that area.

Your thorax is your middle section, like your chest and abdomen. MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. It is a machine that takes pictures by vibrating water molecules in your body (its harmless). So, this would mean getting the results to a special picture of your checst and abdomen.
