Aniridia is one disease that causes brush spots or white spots on the iris. This is the proper name for the genetic disorder.

A white spot on the iris is caused by the genetic condition Heterochromia. It's caused by a lack of melanin (a pigment) and can also result in different colored irises.

This genetic syndrome is called heterochromia where in the eyes lack melanin pigments thus causing the white spots on the iris. Though this is a genetic syndrome it can also be acquired through injury.

It could be due to Kayser-Fleisher ring as a result of copper deposition on the iris. It could be as a result of the Wilson's disease which is a genetic disorder that result in excessive accumulation of copper in the body and then deposited on the organs including liver, brain and iris.
