If immigration is notified that the marriage is one of convenience, the individual can be held and subsequently deported. The individual who participated in the fraud can be prosecuted by the federal government.

If a marriage is fraudulant, immigration will immediately work towards deportation of the non-american citizen and also pursue criminal charges on both parties. Fraud is taken very seriously and could lead to permanent restrictions on the travel into the U. S. in the future of the non-american spouse. Appeals are generally unsuccessful.

Depends on the kind of "fraud". Deportation is definitely an option, but there are ways to appeal that decision on different ideas. You could get lucky with a liberal court.
