The birth certificate sums up all you need to know on a new child. It will have the state and hospital where the birth occured. The date and time will be noted. The mother and father's name and the delivery doctor will be on there. Some states have a place for the baby's name.

A birth certificate shows the exact time, date and place of the birth, the individual's given name, the names/birthdates/birth places of both parents, if given at the time.
