My lawn and garden went totally green six years ago with Milorganite. Milorganite is a slow release organic fertilizer containing such animal products as, blood and bone meal. Milorganite is available in most major home and garden stores and priced comparably to other chemical lawn treatments.

There is a product call Milorganite that is made from the Milwaukee sewage treatment plant. This product is organic and will not burn your lawn. There is another product call Megagreen that is in liquid form and is mostly fish emulsion. Either of these fertilizers will work.

Use a good composted manure. It must be composted so the nitrogen in the manure isn't "hot". Fresh manure can kill plants with it's overly high nitrogen content. Spread thinly over the yard. A good fish emulsion would also work. This can be mixed and sprayed on the new yard.

Greensense is a great organic fertilizer that is protein based. Before being absorbed by the new roots of the grass it is first disolved into the soil. It is made from ground corn, alfalfa, cottonseed and other organic materials.

Living in the country and having horses, makes lawn care a snap. Our lawn solution, horse manure. Age it to loom so it does not burn the roots. If you ask any local horse owner for manure from their barn if you shovel it yourself, it will probably be free.

One of the best things I have found is chicken manure. Do not use fresh manure as the nitrogen in it will burn the lawn. Let it sit for about one year, giving it a chance to "cool down" and liberally apply it to the area before spreading the seed.

Well this is gonna sound crazy but i promise you that there will be results. Horse poop. Non processed, right out of a pasture. Just get it and spread it on your lawn. Walk on it as little as possible. Plenty of water. I know from personal experienge, it works.
