What is a good pattern for a baby blanket?

I want to make a gift for my neighbor.

Something with yellow. Something with fish and suns, children related items and symbols. Maybe trains, cars, something the child can grow into and not want to replace right away.

tie blankets are fun and easy. Get 2 rectangular pieces of polar fleece. cut out a square of fabric in each corner and cut fringe on each of the four sides. Tie all the fringe in knots and you're done!

Fleece is good for blankets because it doesn't unravel so the edges don't even need to be finished. Cut it to the size desired. Use a blanket stitch around edge.
