Perfect Blend Organic Fertilizer is everything the Avocado tree needs and it's organic! Purchase it at Lowe's or a good farm supply. Organic compost around the base of the tree will also help with health of the tree and the quality of the fruit.

Trees should be fertilized four times a year. A fertilizer containing potassium, phosphorous and nitrogen will be beneficial. Yellow leaves can be an indication of iron deficiency, in which case iron should be introduced. Zinc deficiency can also be present in older trees. Another point worth remembering is that avocado trees respond well to compost.

These trees do great with non-chemical fertilizers. Fish emulsion provides lots of nutrients your Avocado needs, as does worm castings and compost materials. Liquid fertilizer or granulated fertilizer is available, too. You can fertilize once yearly with a combination 10-30-10(NPK) mixture. Before planting your tree, mix compost in with soil to give it a good start.

The Avocado tree is a fruit bearing tree so any nitrogenous fertilizer will help it's growth. A balanced citrus blend fertilizer will also aid growth and provide essential nutrients. Keep in mind that Avocado trees have delicate roots close to the surface of the ground so be careful not to fertilize too often as you may damage the root system.

Once the tree is grown a little a balanced citrus fertilizer is best to use on a yearly basis. You can also use organics like compost, coffee grounds, or fish emulsion.

Do not fertilize the tree the first year. After that, you can use any balanced citrus fertilizer on a yearly basis and follow the directions on the label. Be conservative with commercial fertilizers. If you want organic fertilizer, you can use compost, coffee grounds, or fish emulsion, and other things like that.

Balanced fertilizers are recommended for the avocado. The older trees will benefit from nitrogenous fertilizer feeding in early summer and again in late winter.

A large number of growers use what us referred to a young tree fertilizrt. This has a higher percentage of ammonia for organic sources and seems to have a positive effect.
