A profession of faith is a statement of beliefs. The statement may be personal, or it may belong to a particular religious community or denomination. Thus a person might say, "I agree with the Presbyterian profession of faith. Alternattively, a person might say, "I have writeen my profession of faith -- would you like to read it?"

It is a statement someone makes about what he/she believes. Catholics, for example, recite the Nicene Creed as part of the mass. It clearly states the beliefs of the faith.

A profession of faith refers to the words, quite frequently even prayers addressed to a God, that are said either in silence or aloud to show or convince yourself you strongly believe in someone or something. This phrase seems to be frequently used among believers of religions all over the world.
