Damaged leaves and black specks on foliage is a good indication you might have thrips. Thrip are skinny little winged insects that have puncturing mouths and can suck out your plants juices from stems and leaves. If the infestation is large enough they can even bite you or your pets.

Thrips are a tiny insect with a sharp mouth that attacks your plants. They attack all types of plants. If they are bad enough they will even start to bite humans and animals.

Thrips are extremely small, slender parasitic insects that literally suck the life out of a plant. Thrips are difficult to control by biological means, so I reccomend an insecticidal soap.

Thrips attack foilage, flowers, and fruit of plants. They lay eggs in unopened buds of plants and spread plant viruses. Scraping and sucking the leaves, they leave mottled appearances on them. Flowers drop off, and leaves may turn brown. Thrips have orangeish or brownish-yellow bodies and fringed wings. Control your weeds is the number one recommendation.

Thrips are small, striped, winged bugs that attack many common houseplants. They multiply quickly, and they feed on the sap of the plant they are attacking. This means they literally bore into the stem and "suck" the liquid flowing inside the plant and consume it. They can become a swarm, and they spread from plant to plant easily.

Thrip are teeny little bugs that get on plants and suck the liquid right out. Some people use chemicals and other use soapy water to wash them off.

It is little bugs that attack the plants leaves sucking the juices out and leaving the play looking checkered. They also attack the flowers.
