What is an appropriate sympathy card for a 3 year old's death?

It is a very tragic situation and I want to send an appropriate card.

Choose something simple with a calm color. The cover should feature something about rebirth, or peacefulness, such as an angel or a dove. Preferably, the card will have no writing on the inside. A simple note such as "My thoughts are with you," or "You are in my prayers" is best.

You want to show your support for the family. Pick a card that expresses your availability to support the family in their time of need. If this is a religious family, then another appropriate card would include something about the child being in Heaven with God. More important than any card, though, is to be available to support the family.

Instead of a sympathy card why don't you send a teddy bear or something more childlike. Another way is to have all his friends share their memories on a videocam.

Deaths of children are SO hard. Just tell them that if they need anything to call you. That's the best thing you can do right now is offer your support.
