It is a style of take-control classroom management where the teacher establishes rules of behavior and has a lot of control over the class. They are then free to teach without distraction from students' misbehavior. They also use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior.

Assertive discipline is a method that teachers use in the classrom in order to reduce student misbehavior and let teachers to proceed with instructing. This educational mode has a clear set of rules established from the start. Students are then rewarded when they behave appropriately and presented with consequences when they don't. Consistency is key.
