Benedict's test is used to detect the presence of reducing sugar. You just add the benedict reagant to the solution which is going to be tested. It can be used to detect the presence of reducing sugar in the urine which might be an indication you have diabetes. However, you will need to undergo further test to confirm the diagnosis.
