What is California law concerning leaving a child home unattended?

I would think it would be neglect or abandonment or abuse.

If your child is not old enough to take care of it's self then you can get Social Services called on you and your child taken away. Make sure the child has food and can get help in an emergency. Around 12 the child is probably old enough to stay home alone while you are gone a few hours.

I'm not sure about california but where i live once the child is 12 you can leave them home alone cause daycare centers will not take them after they turn 12 or 13. Otherwise i would think it would be considered neglect if they are younger than that. might also be rules about what time of day they are alone.

Sadly, California does not have an age restriction when it comes to leaving a child home alone. Instead of an age they take into consideration the maturity of the child

Actually California Law is very diacy in this matter. Thogh I think the minor child should never left in home unattended. The law does not state any problem until the child under 18 is provided adequate food, medicine, home etc which is esential for the growth of child.
