CH3Cl is Chloromethane, also known as methyl chloride. It is a compound that consists of atoms of Hydrogen, Carbon and Chlorine. Chloromethane is a toxic colorless gas, extremely flamable. It has been widely used as a cooling agent in refrigerators. For it's toxicity and flamability this use has been abanoned.

It is called methyl-chlorine and it is a hydrocarbon. More specifically a halogenoalkane. These substances are highly volatile and can be used as a fuel. However, because the carbon chain length is not very long it will burn with a very sooty and smoky flame. Hope that answers your question!
