Since most cysts resolve on their own, surgery is most often not needed. But if further problems develop that would affect the health of the ovary, then open surgery which is a longer recovery time can be done or the less invasive laparoscopic surgery is available with just a small incision below the navel.

Its usually done through the belly button now with minimal scarring, they flatten the cyst and they pull it out through the hole. There isn't much more involved than getting your tubes tied. The difference is that they need to flatten and pull out cysts through your belly button.

Ovarian cysts are readily removed by way of Cryo application. Cryo is a method of inserting a probe tip at the base of the cyst and once activated the probe freezes the cyst on site without invasive surgery.

Laproscopic surgery is the task performed in removing ovarian cysts, which involves drilling of the ovaries containing the cysts. In unconscious patient, three holes are formed on the stomach to pass the surgery tools into stomach along with camera. The camera will be connected to a TV monitor, to help the surgeon view the stomach inner details during surgery.

For the most parts doctors will remove a cyst from your ovary with minimal cutting. The procedure requires that the doctor make minimal cuts in your abdomen to remove the cyst.
