What is meant by "is the juice worth the squeeze"?

My Aunt said "is the juice worth the squeeze" to me the other day, and I have no idea what she meant.

I think she meant, will the end result be worth the effort or investment you have to put into it to get it? This could take many forms, such as weighing a possible promotion against having to do something dishonorable, or is joining the club worth going through the hazing, etc.

This is an expression that means, "is the result of your effort going to be worth the time and energy it takes. " She probably thinks not. Another really old equivalent phrase is, "is the game worth the candle," way back when candles were worth conserving for more serious activities.
