Thank you very much for including me in this wonderful celebration. I wish you the best on this glorious day, unfortunately I am unable to attend. I had previously commited to another event and am unable to reschedule. Please know that I will be thinking of you and wishing you all the best now and forever.

There is usually a box to check on the RSVP card. Check the box and then it is ok to also write a short message expressing your regret. An example would be: So sorry to miss your wedding, can't get out of work! Best of luck to you both, talk to you soon!

I am sorry but due to a prior commitment I will not be able to be there to join you in the celebration of your special day.

Proper wording could be: "Thank you so much for thinking of me on your special day! Regretfully, I am unable to attend. "

We are unable to make it to your wedding, we have other plans on that day. But we wish you all the best!
