An optional gymnastics routine requires several different types of elements. You need tumbling passes, leap passes and dance elements. In order to effectively choreograph these elements you need music that fits. The music should have up-beat elements and some more rythmic moments. My favorite routine music ever is from the original War of the Worlds soundtrack. Try it.

Some of the more popular music includes dance and slow music. This is depending on the type of routine you are doing rather slow or fast that is what music will go with.

Classical music has always been a favorite because it does not take away from your routines and has varied rhythms through out the piece.

I like the Adams family because it has a good change of beat and you can make great routines to it.
