The fine Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and other grape varietal wines are raved about because of the price to value ratio. Excellent wine for the asking price.

The Chilean red wines are special because of the high altitude and climate. Some grapes grow better in dry climates. The Spanish brought European grapes to South America centuries ago, and they have adapted to the climate and produce rich, wonderful red and white wines.

Chilean wines offer excellent price to value bargains. For less than 20 dollars you can get a very good Cabernet or Merlot wine that would cost twice that much for a comparable European or California wine.

These are a type of bland wine that leaves little or no aftertaste. They go well with Italian dishes or any dish that contains a large quantity of cheese. This is also a good wine for some desert items.
