To best treat a poison ivy outbreak is to wash the infected area with warm water and mild soap (ivory is best). Apply Calamine lotion and take over the counter benadryl.

Wash it off with soap and water and throw the washcloth and towel away. Put Calamine lotion on it until you can see a doctor.

my husband get poision ivy at lest 3 time every summer and the way he get rid of it is he scratchs it till it bleeds and then pour bleach on it and drys it all out. this stops the itching and scabs shut the scub falls off then heals
